Chronology of cameras Fex Indo
This camera was manufactured in Czechoslovakia. The history of its patent depository, Fritz Kaftanski, is full of uncertainties. Stateless Jew in the interwar, it filed patents in the country where he lived, often redepositing the same. Doing it first with a partner and then alone.
The patent for this device was introduced in Czechoslovakia in January 28, 1938. A similar patent is then deposited in France (871.395). We may note that the name FEX is already used on this unit and he will then be in France, while it is often said that FEx means France Export. It is doubtful that the first meaning of the Czech model was the same.
On the latter, the button is made of bakelite, unlike on the French models which will succeed this one.
